The Subnetwork Lilium was founded in 2017. The coordinator is the lily breeder, collector and founder of the "Lilien-Arche" Stefan Strasser. In the Lilien-Arche in Erlangen, as well as in the collections of the subnetwork's partners, historical and rare lily species and varieties are preserved.

An important common concern of the subnetwork is to jointly preserve and document the diversity of lilies in decentralised collections. The regular meetings serve as an important platform for exchange between all partners. Knowledge and experience in the conservation of lilies can thus be shared and utilised.

Information on over 470 lily accessions in the subnetwork is published in the DGZ database.
