This year, the Bundessortenamt once again presented itself at the IGW in the special show in Hall 23a with a stand. This year's motto of the Hall of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture was: "And what's tomorrow? Agriculture with heart and drone".

During a tasting of various apple varieties, there was an intensive exchange on the protection of varieties and the diversity of apple varieties. The different characteristics were measured and evaluated directly at the object - tastes were very different. The testing of the different characteristics, an important task of the Bundessortenamt, could be shown so well.

Many topics were covered: In which direction does apple breeding go? Which characteristics are important here? What about the health, shelf life and cultivation characteristics of the varieties and how does plant variety protection work?

The entire Hall 23a was very attractively designed for the visitors, and a large number of facilities from the business area presented their tasks in a very practical manner. This gave visitors a good impression of the wide range of topics covered by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

On 27 January 2019, Berlin's most visited trade fair came to an end after 10 intensive days.
