Information on fees

Information of the Federal Plant Variety Office on fees for applications for national listing of agricultural plant species

For agricultural plant species, the test of value for cultivation and use (VCU) for national listing is carried out at technically suitable locations (§ 44 (2) Seed Act). The costs resulting from the examination are usually covered by the fees listed in the fee index.

The system of VCU, in which the variety promotion organisation (Sortenförderungsgesellschaft mbH – SFG mbH) itself and further companies involved by the SFG mbH are participating, are an exception. In these systems, the incurred costs are funded by the trial participants and by third party donations. Invoicing and payment of remuneration are carried out by the variety promotion organisation – SFG mbH against payment. In addition to the fees charged by the Bundessortenamt, this will incur costs for the applicant. Further information is available from the variety promotion organisation – SFG mbH, Kaufmannstraße 71-73, 53115 Bonn.

The Bundessortenamt points to the inclusion of SFG mbH in a system of VCU in corresponding announcements.
