Internship

Internship

It is possible to complete internships with the Federal Plant Variety Office. This relates, in particular, to internships for school pupils and internships that are mandatory as part of a vocational training programme or degree course. Voluntary internships can only be undertaken if certain prerequisites are fulfilled.

Those who are interested can submit an informal application to the Federal Plant Variety Office for an internship. As there are a limited number of internships, applications should be submitted at least three months before the desired start date.

The application should include general documents (letter of application, CV in tabular form, copy of your last school certificate, for students: proof of matriculation). In addition, details should be provided regarding the desired date, duration and site of the internship (headquarters or Federal Plant Variety Office testing stations). Please provide as much detail as possible regarding your preferred departments. You can find out more about the departments from the Federal Plant Variety Office organisational chart.

If you wish to apply for a mandatory internship, you will also be required to provide proof that the requested internship is indeed mandatory as part of a course. Unfortunately we cannot process incomplete applications and applications that do not provide details of the date/duration and/or preferred department.
